: Our 86 J.D. 2150, ( although I'am a I.H. fan ) : I still like it. However, if J.D. is still so american, : how come this thing is made in germany , motor : made in france? Didn't we win WW2 ? Am not completely current, but Deere is still American held but owns operations in Germany and Canada. It also has (or at least had) a partnership agreement with Yanmar in Japan. Look for coporate headquarters - they are in Moline, IL - and are open to the public and worth visiting. Tractors are produced in Waterloo, IA and Dubuque, IA with lawn equipment in Horicon, WI. Although they have a lot of foreign presence, they by far are still the largest American based producers of tractors. JerryU
