I run a parks dept. We have 6 Kubota items. 3 zero turns (2001,2005,2007, the 2001 has almost 2000 hours). A Front mount mower(I would pass on another)
A 1994 L3300 Tractor with 3800 hours and a brand new 7040 tractor. With proper maintenance we have had little issues.
The early decks, (the pro decks are much nicer) we had some issues. Keep in mind high school-college aged employees are running them over some very unforgiving ground. They hold up well. The newest zero turn uses 0.8 gallons a fuel an hour. The tractor uses 2.5 gallons pulling a 12 foot mower (with the air on). I wouldn't mind looking at a Ferris. But my shop is already stocked with all kubota filters and such and I don't want to throw in other brands when it comes to maintaining a fleet.
I did catch grief last year when we bought the newest tractor. The elected officials wanted me to buy a Deere. We do have Deere equipment. The old 2355 that the Kubota "replaced' (we still use it) isn't a big maintenance issue. But the gator and 325 skid loader have had a lot of big ticket issues. That were not our fault just poor engineering (warmed timing gear covers etc). The Deere dealer spec'ed out the wrong tractor so the bid was thrown out.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
