Just came in from the new house; I just got done rough-sanding about 700 sq.ft. of red oak floor. I was using a four-pad random orbital rental sander from HD. It is the most user-unfriendly machine I've ever used; it's like holding a bull yearling by the hind legs. It fights you the entire time. At 72, I'm too old for this kind of stuff. Probably won't need my Ambien tonight.
Two more courses of paper tomorrow, then hopefully put on stain on Friday. Polyurethane this weekend maybe. I find myself wondering why I'm going to this trouble on a floor that will end up mostly covered by rugs, beds, furniture, and, since it's my daughter's, dirty clothes, shoes, junk and clutter. (Sigh.)
