On the N series ford it is common that if you have weak spark it will do just as your is doing. Check to make sure your spark is a nice blue/white and will jump a 1/4 inch gap at each of the 4 plug wires. Next check your plugs and make sure you do not have a few fouled out. If you do not already have auto lite 437 plug in it put a set in. If your spark is good and your plugs are good next check your air cleaner and make sure it is not full of ice or dirt or lacking oil. Then pull the crab drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas out the bottom of the carb. Post back what you find and also ask in the 9N/2N/8N forum below
