I'm re-wiring my 1958 D-17 Allis. I'm using an alternator off a 1974 Chevy pickup L6 engine that had the alternator mounted on left side. The 2 wire plug and wires stick outside of radiator shell/hood/tractor frame profile. Could I just take out the 4 bolt/screws of alternator end frame and rotate it up 90 degrees with the alternator already installed without messing anything up inside the alternator? Maybe obsessive, but I'd feel better about not having those wires sticking out to be snagged. Thanks for any advice or enlightenment. Jim.
