Lots of Farmtrac tractors in my area. They have held up well and many are over 10 years old now. I know of a 665 like you described local. It's used daily feeding cows in the winter. Puts up hay for about 80 head of cows. I've seen it pulling a 5 shank chisel plow. The engine in that model and the ones of lower HP below it are the old Ford escort design that were sold in Europe. Many of the same parts of the Ford engines sold in the US will fit them. But there are some differences. If I needed a tractor that size I'd buy one if the price is right. I had a 675 and it has a Perkins engine. I traded for some equipment when I no longer needed it and it had 1,800 hrs on it. Broke a tie rod end,a top link(my fault)and a fuel lift pump. Other than that it was oil and filters.
Talk to folks that have owned them to make your decision. Guy I work with just picked up a low hr. 535 for $7500 with 700 hours on it. He uses it to feed daily and really like it. He's impressed that it'll start in winter without any assistance from heaters or glow plug. Although it has a glow plug he's never had to use it.
Farmtrac had a good thing going here but the Indian CEO's stole 55 million and left the dealers high and dry. They also skipped the country and were never prosecuted. NC state att. general tried to get several of them to come back to NC. but they wouldn't make the trip. Shame they could have been locked up.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: 1964 JD 2010 Dsl - Part 2 - by Jim Nielsen. Despite having to disassemble the majority of my John Deere 2010's diesel engine, I was still hopeful I could leave the engine-complete with crankshaft and camshaft-in the tractor. This would make the whole engine rebuild job much easier-and much less expensive! I soon found however, that the #4 conrod bearing had disintegrated, taking with it chunks of the crankshaft journal.
