Did you size them before you took them there? Most guys use doyle scale. how many board feet of logs did you give him? I'd be livid!
I have a bunch of silver maple I was going to have cut into blocking, the sawmill offered me 10 cents per board foot for the trees and I already cut and yarded them and sized them. All they have to do is truck them away... The other offer I got was for a custom saw mill guy to cut them to 8x8 blocking and he wanted $1.35 bf to cut MY trees. It seems I am to the point where my next step is to just buy my own portable saw mill, because no one else is honest. Well, either a lack of honesty or an abundance of "shyster." Take your pick.
