I have not seen the need to use any type of on-line photo storage site. I usually only use one computer so why not just store the photos right on it???? I have always done it that way. For backup I just back my files up onto a flash drive a few times each week.
The biggest problem I have with computer/Internet is that the people running/designing them are computer nerds. They just do not realize that everyone else does not live and breath computer stuff. So they are always wanting to change/improve stuff. For the person that just wants to keep thing simple they are the enemy.
I just got on Face book last year. For the first few weeks I was on it a lot looking up old friends and such. Right about then they change their site. It became a total mess to try to use. I can read very well. I do not understand the little symbols and abbreviations they like to use on computers/sites.
