Wendy's bought Tim Hortons for big bucks because it is a Canadian institution with over a billion in sales. Tim Hortons widow got into drinking and squandering her money and years back sold her portion to the business partner for $1,000,000. After she lost most of that money, she was trying to sue to get more money out of the former partner claiming she was swindled. She was offered $1,000,000 and accepted it. End of story. They said she should have hired a financial adviser when she sold out. She didn't get anymore money.
There was just something on TV about Tim Hortons never making much of an impact in the US because it is such a Canadian brand. A few years ago Krispy Kreme (sp) was apparently going to come to Canada and over take Tim Hortons as the donut king. Never happened and never will. Tim started the roll up the rim contest that I think Dunkin' donuts copied it in the US. Tim Hortons is so popular that there was a national news story because too many people were littering and throwing Tim Hortons cups all over the place.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
