I'd recommend the Tractor Test Museum at Lincoln. It's on the east campus. When you find the east Campus off Holdrege st look for the tall brick smokestack. The track and lab & Museum is right beside it. Then I'd Leave Lincoln on West O st which turns into Hwy 6. That's a good route, not a lot of traffic and will take you through Hastings & Minden. Hastings has a nice museum, The largest display of whooping cranes in the world http://hastingsmuseum.org/exhibits/bird-dioramas-serial-collection And yes, Don't miss Harold Warp's Pioneer Village at Minden. It's right on the Highway. They have building FULL of tractors and other neat stuff. But take your coat. They don't heat the main building very well and many of the out buildings are unheated. US 6 will take you on to Sterling CO and back to Interstae 76 for wherever you want to go or for a less traveled byway once you get to Holdrege take the "Highline" NE23 which will route you through to Hollyoke CO and US6. Happy motoring!
