If the kit you are talking about is supposed to have higher compression pistons in it then they are a cheap import set. I used a set a customer just demanded to use three years ago. After two years use(about 750 hours) it started to have a lot of blow by. He brought it back to me raising cain about how "MY" overhaul did not last. I pulled it apart and the Reliant parts looked worse with 750 hours of use than the OEM ones did with 7000 hours on them.
If it is a tractor you are going to keep then go with JD parts. NOT A&I either. JD may own the company but the engine kits are different. The JD kit is still available. Some dealers are playing fast and loose with the A&I parts. They tell the customer that they are getting JD parts and give them A&I parts. The dealer can pocket the extra profit he makes on selling the A&I parts for JD price.
On some of the clutches you can not get the JD one any longer you have to go with a A&I one if you buy it at JD. I go else where when that is the case. If I am buying after market parts then I will not pay too much for them.
