: : I agree that manuals are extremely helpful and I too recommend that anyone that owns a tractor get them if they can . However, I do not believe that anyone should be discouraged from asking questions here regardless of how basic they might be. I enjoy responding to as many postings as I can about the tractors with which I am familiar and I have learned a lot reading the questions and answers of others. Just one man's opinion. John : +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ : I'm one of the fairly new tractor owners, and I have some books. But not all the Books. So I am one that asks the simple and the silly questions. I feel silly asking questions that every body else already knows. But If I had all the Worlds Problems figured out, I would miss out on all the neat people that posts answers and pictures here. I like reading and learning from this page and others. YOU CAN'T GET THAT FROM ONE BOOK AT ANY PRICE. You get a lot friendly people that are concerned and like to help. My Deepest Thanks Jess : ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ PLease reread my original post. You will notice that at no time did I advocate the violent overthrow of the government or the drowning of kittens. Nor did I say anything about not asking questions (even if its to ask the difference between a gearshift and a wheel). I am a big fan of books and wanted to make a positive statement about their many benefits and where they could be obtained. If there is a hidden message it is don't accept as gosepel every answer you get over the net from here or any place else. A manual (at the price of a tank or two of gas) is still the best tractor investment you can make. I have now placed my soapbox back in the closet. Have fun. :-)
