I saw a good shed stored IH 37 12 ft disk sell for $2300 just two weeks ago. The 8,10 and 12 foot disk will out sell the 14-18 footers. The high cost of new ones and the high cost of blades/bearing make good smaller disk sell well.
On the IH 37 disks you are looking at make sure that they have ball bearings. The early IH 37 disk could still have the box bearings. A disk with the box bearings is worth half what a ball bearing one will sell for.
I bought a JD BWA 12 foot disk in Dec. It was supposed to have only been used one year and then stored inside. It did still have the paper shipping tags on it. Paint was new looking and the blades still had paint on them. I gave $2000 for it. I really planned on keeping it. On the way home I stopped and got fuel. A neighbor came over and looked at it. He asked me what I wanted for it. I told him I really did not want to sell it. He badgered me in to giving him a price. I told him not a penny under $3000. He wrote me a check on the spot. So I did not even get home with it. LOL. I found another one that needed some work for $750. It does have a perfect frame and hitch. I am putting new blades and bearing in it. I will have close to the $2000 in it.

But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
