: : : Commercial carburetor cleaner is quite expensive. : : Does anyone have a recipe for a mix it yourself : : cleaner using ingredients that are readily : : available ? : : To be specific I wish a solution that I can soak : : clogged carburetors or other parts and it will : : remove dried gas and essentially everything. : : Thanks : : Ed Wilson - ewilson@trytel.com : Ed - : I've had excellent luck with Strip-Eze (methylene chloride paint remover). Dissolves, gum, varnish, paint - EVERYTHING - and does not harm metal parts. Be sure to remove any plastic parts (it'll dissolve them too) before you dip, and have plenty of ventilation. : Bob Damn plenty of ventilation! Stuff about killed me once.
