Made a delivery tonight at JC Penny's in Florida. The guard in the shack had a hat that said 5D- 5D minus. I asked him what it meant and he went on to tell me it's a very rare birth defect that causes retardation. He has a set of triplets and one has it. He was a nice man and was anxious to talk about it so I listened. When I left to drop my trailer he must have thanked me 5 times for asking. He said he had worn the hat and some shirts for years and I was the first to ask. Later when I left he thanked me again and said that I had made his day and made him very happy, both from asking and for listening. I can take no credit for asking, to be honest I thought it would be some redneck hunting thing. I guess I posted because it made my day too to give some happiness to someone for doing basically nothing, and to show that sometimes the smallest kindness will give great pleasure.
