A colour (spelt with a 'U' LOL!) war is nothing new....back in 1965 Massey Ferguson rented a large field near to the motorway(interstate to y'all) and set about putting up signs advertising the RED GIANTS (100 series) The day of their ploughing demonstration a truck load of Ford 6X range tractors (pre force) pulled up on the motorway reservation with a huge sign .....'The GIANT KILLERS" though we all know this plan backfired as the blue tractors killed no giants and had to be disciontinued 3 years later when Ford unveiled the Force range. Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
