Just sitting here pondering life’s mysteries today and wondered how the cylinder walls are really lubricated on, say, a Farmall H. I know there are ports that pressure lube the main & connecting rod bearings. But nothing up to the wrist pin bushing or cylinder walls. So how does the oil get up there? Is it thrown up there from the oil that leaks out from the connecting rod bearings on the crank? Is it splashed up from just the pan? I know there’s an opening in the top of the rod that would allow oil down to the wrist pin if it were somehow sprayed up into the bottom of the piston.
