You are correct in questioning the economics as the trucking , loading and shipping costs are high. In the case of the 1155 the tractor wasnt expensive being a none runner, the fact that it had a Perkins engine made it all the more attractive in that they were actually produced in the UK and are still available in Combines etc. Most of the tractors I have a very rare in Scotland in actual fact the MF2805 which I have is to the best of my knowledge the only one in Scotland and one of only 2 or 3 in the UK. Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
