Moses, our wonderful dog who worked at the shop as a greeter died early Sunday morning while his people were asleep where he has slept since we got him 2 years ago, at the foot of our bed. He was only 6. He came to us from a local rescue being a soft coated Wheaton/Sharpei cross and fit right in to our lives and loved his work. He never met a human or another dog he didn't like except for the UPS man for some reason. It didn't matter where he saw a UPS truck he barked at it. One of the few things he barked at. He was suppose to get his summer hair cut Monday.
He knew what human words treat, go to work, and bath meant. I doubt we will ever have another dog that responded to, "let's take a bath" by going down the hall and waiting by the tub, then jumping in when I got there. He knew when it was time to go home also and would pester me if I didn't agree. He wouldn't drink bowl water if it had floaties in it and would not eat anything that didn't smell somewhat like meat. Sometimes a customer would sit in "his" chair in the waiting area and he would curl up in the chair beside them and nap. Until the customer got up then he reclaimed his chair. As mentioned, he didn't like the UPS man and we put a fence up between the two counters so he couldn't get out front, that home depot black bar fence with a gate and latch. Of course, he quickly learned how to open the gate.
We have so many pictures and movies with him in them and for those we are thankful. Molly and Romeo, our miniature schnauzers are helping to fill the void but this golden boy is missed terribly. He had quite a following among our customers also. We had two customers this morning that had their dogs with them to play with Moses.
I just wanted to share a small part of him. I know you know why.

It would be a great day for the collies and the terrier dogs, rats and mice would be at the bottom of the stacks so the dogs, would have a busy time hunting and killing, all the corn was gathered and ricked in what we c
