Back in the day a farmer could feed his livestock in that barn during a snowstorm and not even know it's snowing outside. I would think that farm was more than a one man operation when it was in it's glory. Either the farmer had a big family with a lot of kids to pitch manure and stack hay or he had hired men.
A lot of progressive thinking went into the design and architecture when it was built. What would a barn like that have cost to build back around the turn of the century? Someone gathered and skidded a lot of rocks just to make the foundation. Jim
