I cant seem to find my book with all the references to bending on beams.
If I recall (without my book), the 2x2x1/8" tube will be stronger than 2x2x1/4" angle.
Reason being, when put in a bending moment you have the bottom on the tube in tension, plus the top and bottom keep keep the sides from bowing out. The top beam will be in compression. With angle the 1 verticle you have, when placed under load will began to bow sideways almost immediately.
