If I remember right the clutch is a kind of a ratchet type. The teeth, if you will call them that, wear a little slanted. While you're planting the clutch will slowly push apart against the spring and then sit there and ratchet. A little work with an angle grinder will get the surfaces flat again. There's probably no need to to buy new parts if you can get those surfaces flat again.
I had that happen with my 7000. Monitor would go off for a few beats and then all was fine for awhile. When I had the old IH 58 plate planter there was no monitor so I didn't know the clutch was doing this one spring. I was planting beans and the clutch would push apart, ratchet a bit and then re-engage. Made for a skippy stand of beans in one 80 acre field that year. After that happened I rigged up a monitor. Jim
