Been up here in N Wi.woods for years and yet to discover morel mushrooms. I have heard they are available in the woods,but was wondering where they are located, on which dead trees, stumps, etc. Do they grow this far north,or like everything else must be a warmer climate? I can't say I've ever eaten any in 78 years,hate to find a poisonous one,although to some folks, it would be a blessing if I did eat some.lol.Haven't googled yet,but thinking on it.I thought I'd see if anyone here has picked them in the woods.Thanks in advance,going to start tilling and planting spuds tomorrow (60# seed russet burbank). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
