There's is supposed to be a "Firearms Owners Protection Act" that allows interstate travel with your gun where you're going from one state where it's legal to have it to another where it's legal to have it. It's not well known and, IMO, is not enforced at the Federal Level at all. I believe it was enacted in the early 90's. I never heard about it till around 2007 and still rarely hear of it.
An out of stater carrying a gun of any kind in Mass is dead meat. An out of stater carrying a handgun in NY is the same. And now with Cuomos unSAFE act...just stay away from NY. Wish I could.
