Years ago my step father decided to cut down an ugly ol juniper next to my mom's pond. Wasn't much of a tree. Probly less than a 12" butt, maybe 20'tall... The trunk was pretty straight, but I'd say %70 of the mass of the limbs was on the side towards the pond. I stood in the window and watched as he made his wedge cut on the "lighter side" then stepped around to the "heavy side" to finish. Predictably (even to 18 year-old me) the tree fell towards the heavy, pond side and him. Landed right on him. The limbs held the trunk up from crushing him (unfortunately...) but did bruise and scrape him up a good bit. Some people just ain't gots sense god gave a rock...
Never did like the man. Mom divorced him a few years later. Good riddence to bad rubbish.
