People criticize fiat because their cars have a bad reputation. Think Tn/T4000 series. I know that you'll talk them up till you die, but they really don't have a very good reputation. The early TN's weren't too bad, but they started to get into everything being electric, and it really went down hill. The TL/5000 series is a bit the same way, but with overall better build quality. The TS-A/T6000 have their problems too. T-7000 can also have problems. About Allis. I don't really mind Allis, but Allis made some pretty stupid mistakes. If their Ag division was any indication, they deserved to go bankrupt. They didn't build a competitive product until the 8000 series. They should have had a fully syncronized transmission starting with the D-series, but didn't get anything until the 8000 series. Their engines left alot to be disired even including the 8000 series. The 301 was gutless in anything over 90hp and the 426 coudn't take the power they tried to get out of it. Then there's the cab. Point being, what Allis has done is no indication of what was was a good idea. One of their many mistakes, in my opinion, was getting involved with FIAT. If I was to buy a new tractor, it would have to be an AGCO. By far the best tractor on the market today. Has nothing to do with FIAT. I truly do not trust CNH, starting before I was aware FIAT owned them. #1-They have very questionable reliability/QC. #2-parts prices are unbelievable. John Deere is consistently expensive. AGCO is consistently reasonable with the odd expensive part. Kubota is either CHEAP or up there with CNH.
