and may add, Laural and Great Falls MT, Mandan ND, various refineries in WY, also Canada ect. They are plans to build a big refinery in Union County SD, 400,000 barrels a day. They got the air permits, but are having great difficuly findng investors to pay for the thing. Simple fact is the US consumption of oil is, and has been declining for years, and there is no refining shortage. Although the number of refineries is down, refining capacity has been going up. Canadian refining capacity is way up, and Mexico is doing fine, and the pipelines are being built. Crude oil production is going down in AK, CA and OK. So lots of refining capicity will be avaliable in CA (refines most of AK crude) and OK. This is good news for the consumer, unless, the fed or state taxpayers get involved in financing that refinery in SD or the smaller one (150,000 barrel) that has been approved in TX.
