This rain came right up the pipe as I like to call it, the hudson river valley and semi stalled til it ran out, was just circulating around, 3 days of rain. We were real dry, the grasses on the file adjacent to my house are always first to green, and would be waist high by now, stunted from no rain, barely up to my knees and thin. All the deer feed on it as soon as the grass grows, gets full sun, no other grass areas nearby. The dry 10 or so days, in early May which was beautiful weather like sunny California weather, the ground was hard and dusty like mid summer not any more, we got it all back and then some, lot of fields will have wash outs, as they were just planted, these cold temps, I hope it does not rot the seed. I think the tonnage on first cut hay will be way off this year.
