I can relate to the guy, but hopefully he"s not driving. I have a lot of long red lights on my commute to work and back every day, and I"ve had this job for a long time. Back when I was in marching bands, I kept my Eb alto horn or euphonium in the front seat on those commutes. Whenever I got stuck at a long red, or needed 2, 3, 4 cycles to get through an intersection, I used the wasted time to practice songs for the upcoming event. It was always when stopped.
Sousaphone was my main instrument for a few years, but I never could figure out how to play one in the car, so I switched to smaller brass horns. I saw a guy driving down the highway one day in the summer while playing a guitar and singing loudly. The neck of his guitar was sticking out the open window. Must have been steering with his knee.
