OK, after turning the engine over a few times, I was able to move the "shift button" to the position shown in the picture (thanks heaps). After engine start, It made an initial grinding-bumping sound and then quieted down but no hyd pressure. The "shift button" can be rotated about 100 degrees around it's axis with no apparent effect. I guess I'm looking at a tear down. At 74 yrs, wrenching is not my favorite sport but I do what I must. My case has a front lift that complicates removing the gas tank. Thanks again for all the help and any further tear down hints are welcome.
