If all others Close Family Relatives are Deceased then the Company is backing up the line of relatives to fined the Next-of-Kin! Divorced or Not. Your M-I-L Nurseing Home Care is probably under Medicaid rules, if the Lady Owns no Real-Property for the State to attach a lien to then the Life contract was there as a plan for the Ex-M-I-L as a Burial Policy (Per-say) which is allowed it couldn't be a policy that made Cash-Value! (internal rule.. as it pertains to Medicaid recipient Qualifications) they can't attach a lien to that (the Life Contract) for the benefit of ther contract does not belong to Ex-M-I-L, She is Deceased, it belongs to the Beneficiary's ... your wife.
