Toured Kinzie's facility and Jon's (founder) vintage tractor collection yesterday in Williamsburg, IA.
They make 90-95% of their grain carts and planters in house. I could not review every box of purchased components/materials/castings but everything I saw was made in the U.S.A.
Employee morale was excellent, the facility was clean and well managed. The painting process was the most impressive part of the factory tour. The manufacturing was a lot like American manufacturing was most everywhere else 30 years ago. Being privately owned gives them flexibility public companies do not have.
Jon (the founder) has a personal engineering center and tractor collection at his home. Nearly 600 tractors were in the collection. All makes, but more IH than anything else. This is too much to take in in one day.
These tours are only conducted twice a year and there is currently a three year waiting list but they do have opportunities if there are cancellations.
The business was started in a small machine shop with a $3500. loan. A clear demonstration of what can be done in this country.
