Yes, as many others have said, it's called wilted lettuce. It's one of my favorites. I think Paul Searls gave a great recipe for the salad. I want to try it with green beans, sounds good Paul. One thing to keep in mind when preparing wilted lettuce, use leaf lettuce and not head lettuce. For those who thought it was too greasy, try using a smaller amount of the prepared dressing. You can't buy dressing as good as this is, and since it's homemade you know what's in it. When I make it I use 8 or 10 strips of bacon, fry them crisp, then break up the bacon into the salad. After the dressing is made I put it in the refrigerator, then heat it up in the microwave for several days to follow. Seems to keep well in the refrigerator for several days, or until it's gone. For me it's the #1 leaf lettuce dressing.
