The intake air is sucked into the crankcase through a carb like device that uses atmospheric air pressure to open a disc valve this slight increase in vacuum pulls fuel up out of the base into that carb like device. The spring that closes that air disc is important in that it is subject to rusting away. The mixture adjustment is a lever/pointer near the base of the carb like device. They are hit and miss the governor controls the spark only allowing raw fuel to pass through the engine probably 30% of the time when not loaded. Pow---------Pow----------Pow Probably in the top ten worst engines for pollution per HP. Fun though I have a single and hav used it for several early years transportation experiments. Jim
