My wife has had Lyme disease for 40 years..For the first 35 years she was constantly misdiagnosed...She felt lousy most of the time but numerous doctors said that there was nothing wrong with her..Most regular doctors dont have a clue...Some wont even admit that Lyme disease exists.
She got so bad in late 2007 that we made a list of all her symptoms and it all pointed to Lyme..We searched on the internet and found a doctor that treats only Lyme disease but he was booked up for a year..We got on the cancellation list and she got in a month later..
She tested positive for Lyme and was put on high powered antibiotics...Shes lots better now but will never be even close to 100% because lots of damage was done due to incompetent doctors not diagnosing her for 35 years.
If we hadnt found a Lyme literate doctor my wife would be dead by now..We know several people that have died from Lyme..We also know quite a few people with Lyme in our area and we have referred them to the doctor that my wife went to..They are all doing better now..
Good luck and I hope that your wife gets diagnosed properly..Most regular doctors will only give antibiotics for 21 days and that isnt long enough..
