I agree on the cute wrapper- note to the young-uns on here- look for a "keeper" like that!
Cousin is in partnership in a dairy near here- he said the wrapper has "changed their lives"- For dairy-quality forage here, you have to start in May. Back in the days of baled dry hay only, every summer was one ulcer after another, dodging the frequent spring showers around here, trying to get it dry on cloudy 68 degree days, etc. They irrigate and get multiple cuttings, but they'd still end up with a bunch of either moldy or over-ripe hay that couldn't be used for the dairy cows, and had to buy a lot of expen$$$ive alfalfa to make up for it.
Now, they just cut when its just right, nutrient wise, and bale silage until we get a stretch of fool-proof weather (usually August), when they put up what little dry "heifer hay" they need. Sure has made their lives easier.
And as Cousin says, "Its something two old men can still do- don't think we'd get far trying to buck small squares like we did 20 years ago."

Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
