Those tractors are the thirstiest machines ever built. I bet a top fuel dragster burns less gas going a quarter mile, than a 350U driving the same distance in the highest gear.
The best, most reliable, and similar in stature would be the Ford 3000 or 4000 diesel.
Just be careful, because some of them were stripped down and didn't have hi-low transmissions.
If you wanted cheap horsepower, you could check out an Allis Chalmers 190xt diesel. Just be sure the brakes and transmission are working good. That was the weak point. You could pull 4 16 bottom plow with that tractor.
