It's taking over my hay patch and that's ok as my cows love it. Glad it spreads like it does. Cheaper than the high priced seed that I otherwise would be buying.
Around here in N. TX. repeated mowing, keeping it short, will reduce it significantly if not kill it.
The problem with trying to get rid of it in a crop is that what you do to get rid of it disturbs/interferes with the crop.
Worst thing you can do is to plow it as you loosen the soil, break up the rhizomes and they just make that many more plants....like cutting Coastal Bermuda runners. The harder you try to kill it the better it likes it.
