I agree that getting a new one if you can is the sure-fire way but I have fixed a few - I soldered up the splits and then drilled a small (3/32 ?) hole in one side and popped the crush out with a wee bit of compressed air and a rubber-tipped air nozzle - seems like I remember that after soldering the drilled hole shut the solder would get sucked back into the float as it cooled - keeping the rest of the float warm until the solder set up solved that (MOST of the time) :roll: ......
