I have been running a Hesston model 540 baler for a number of years. It is one of the easy ones to operate. To start a bale go straight into the windrow and , depending on the size of the windrow you can continue straight or if the windrow is light and skinny you may need to sway from the right side of the row and after about 40 feet sway and back to the left . Continue this until the bale alarm sounds and then you are ready to wrap the bale with the twine. Some balers require you backup a few feet to allow you to clear the bale before closing the rear gate. This is important because if you close the door on a bale it may spring the gate and that is real bad news. Take your time on the first few bales and you will have few problems. LOL
