Guys, Larry Asked our Opinion! I said my response would p!ss off a bunch of folks too! The 8N, DID and Was a major step forward in agriculture. The 8n put the team of horses, mules, oxen to pasture!!! It Doubled and Some the amt of Work, plowing done in a day by virtue of 2 bottoms compared to the 1 bottom the team pulled. and didn't need to be rested or feed! In 2013 there are still waayy too many better choices of tractor to keep as a primary or secondary tractor !!! Not a 8N, IMO the 8N is still used by lots of folks for various duties fro raking hay, some baler work and Garden, or truck farming operation, Kept there for various reasons. I say it"s now best work is Parade Duty! But when there are many, many other tractor with loaders, hydraulics, LPTO, PS, and better tranny options, Why KEEP IT unless it was Dads, G_Dads, or other realities, or close family friends! After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
