Banks can be a PIA here too. I could not find my chequebook ( OK checkbook!) so I phoned my bank and asked for a new one. They asked me if I would like the old one frozen just in case it had been lost or stolen. I said "Oh yes good idea!" then of course she told me that if I did find the old one in the meantime not to use it as it would now be invalid. OK so the new book arrives and I write out 5 checks from it and every one bounces! In a panic I phoned my bank to find out what the problem was. They had accidentally frozen my NEW checkbook instead of the old one. I was very annoyed! Fortunately the old book reappeared.
