The JD 2020 has a drag link type of steering system. Check the front pivot for play. The where bad about wearing out the bushing(#8) on the bell crank(#2) in the front end. If the bushing is worn out it will steer harder.
IF the front bell crank bushing/pivot is not in bad shape then look at the steering arm(#9 in 2nd pic.) that comes off the steering box. The bushing(#2-2nd pic) can be bad an let the arm move around. Also the arm can be loose on the shaft (#7-2nd pic)
If none of these mechanical parts are good then you can have issues inside the steering housing. That will take someone that is familiar with it to work on it.
