Mike, Thanks for your response. I'm not interested though in the pros and cons of a glass filter housing as this is obvious. That wasn't my question. I'm interested in the history and example of these filters. Such as, did it use a replaceable element, was the jar used with 'homemade' filtering material, and other related info. Thanks, Joe
