Most trailer tires fail because people do not air them up before starting a trip. The other reason is they get old, after five years a tire is on borrowed time and that means any high speed tire. I pealed one on the pickup and I was on the road 1 mile when it let go, according to the date stamp, it was 10 years old and way over 1/2 tread.
