You probably were using the sleve adaptor that doesn't change the shaft length as they liked to do that. Had to use that type with the 38 JD A and the AC 60 combine as you did not dare to put the shaft extender type on. That step down version I have as well as the step up version, only use the step up version in extender with the Ferguson 30 on that combine and the step down on a sprayer pump. Some of thos implements he has the only way to change shaft size would be to cut and weld.
