Dick, some of the best hay I ever cut, was with an AC D-14 and a 160 mounted bush hog type mower. I could feed it to cows, and they liked it better than sickle bar cut hay, about 2:1. I think it is because it bruises the stems a little, as they pass through. Nowadays I use a drum mower, which is not as good as the 160, but not as bad as the sickle bar. No machine is perfect. If I had the luxury of unlimited time, I would use the 160, though you have to go slower, to cut, the hay cures faster than a sickle bar mower!

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
