Interesting information under the "Fun Facts" tab. To me they had kind of worked off the top of the Rock when I lived in the area and were down to "ground level" in the 1980's. Some beautiful buildings and plazas created from the various granite products in Mt. Airy and other places.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
