Depends a lot on BOTH the charger you have and the battery.
Its "best" to charge it something like my Xantrex Truecharge2 Smart 3 stage charger does. It starts out at a high rate (as high as perhaps 40 amps depending on the battery) for bulk charging, then slows the rate down for absorption charging, then slows it even more for the float maintenance charge at maybe 2 amps at 13.15 volts.
If you ONLY have choices of 2 or 6 amps, start out at 6 and then once shes charged (may be a longgggggggg time if a big battery subject to its condition) then set it at 2 to top it off.
Not knowing the chargers specs or the battery, thats the best I have to offer i.e. start at 6 amps finish off at 2
