I highly doubt it's homemade as that front piece of angle iron is beautifully curved to come back and attach to the rear piece. Everything looks factory done. There are also an abundance of holes to mount the shanks with varying spacing--all the holes precisely lined up. The use of the L shaped shanks also seems planned as it allows turning the L front or back to basically make the cultivator point actually touch the ground in 3 distances back from the tractor. I wish I had better pictures to show the overall design but it's several miles away and still laying on the tongue of the trailer.
I have a V shaped spring tine cultivator as well and my primary interest in this is removing the cultivator feet and clamping old IH style shanks onto this frame to make a bedder/row opener. I'll put two disk hillers on the front and a single cultivator foot in the center of the back. I want to try to hill and open a row for planting in one pass if possible. I'll use the V cultivator for cultivating so I will not have to keep changing this once I get it set up.
